Best Time To Travel
Best Time To Travel
This is a common question and a very valid question and we explore when is the best time to travel. First of all we need to look at the factors why you need to travel; Is it a family holiday, a business trip, backpacking or for family reasons.
When looking for the best time to travel on a family holiday you would probably start with the price first. As many of us know the travel companies hike up their prices when the school children break up for half term and holidays and this can be a pain in the wallet. Now for some this is the only chance to have a family holiday but we do recommend speaking directly with the school and see if there is any room for discretion. The head teachers and governors already know the impact of the price hike and if you're children have good attendance records this may go in your favour.
With business travel the best time to travel could be dictated to you with scheduled meeting and appointments. If you have prior notice of this this is the time to start planning your trip. If you are travelling long haul you may want to make allowances for jet lag. If you are heading to a busy destination like Mumbai you want some extra time to get your bearing and pre plan travel arrangements in advance. If you are lucky enough to have a business trip to somewhere exotic you may even want to book in a few days to explore you're destination and take in the sights.
If you are lucky enough to be able to just grab yo're rucksack and head to the airport with not a care in the world then finding the best time to travel is a bit more easier. First we would advise that if you are travelling out of Europe to check the weather conditions. You don't want to end up with a backpack of shorts and t-shirts and end up in a country that is in the middle of a hurricane season. If travelling in and around Europe like Spain or Germany for instance this is the time to hunt down those cheap airline tickets. If you can save money travelling at unsociable hours then go for it. You can sleep on the plane or when you are being transferred to you're accommodation.
