A good plan to discover Paris, its history and even the history of France, is to follow the stations of Métro: Travelling The Paris Metro
- Let’s start with the station ” Cité ” on the island of the cité cradle of Paris. With its flower market, and booksellers along the quays.
- A station further north ” Châtelet ” with its fountain celebrating the campaigns of Napoleon in Italy and Egypt.
- The Place du Chatelet created by Baron Hausmann to facilitate the north-south traffic of Paris. Two large theaters Le Chatelet and Sarah-Bernhardt are great to see when travelling the Paris Metro.
- To the west is the ” Louvre Rivoli ” station where you can discover art and history in the corridors of the metro before going to discover the originals outside at the Louvre Museum. Then you can follow the Rue de Rivoli under the arcades. The station “Concorde” Its place, the gardens, the National Assembly, the beginning of the Champs Élysées.
- To the south, the station Saint Michel Notre Dame , here we find the zero point of the roads of France and especially the square of the Cathedral of Paris. A little further on is the Saint Germain des Prés station, a jazz center for writers of the Deux Magots, lovers at the cafe le Flore and the demonstrations of May 1968 for those looking for a spot of history whilst travelling the Paris metro.
- To the east, the La Bastille station or a fresco recalls some great tricolor moments and evokes the famous fortress La Bastille which drew here. Outside on the square there is now the Opéra de Paris.
