Sightseeing In Southern Spain
When looking for a country to visit and want to see the sights look no further than Spain. Here are some fantastic and memorable attractions in Spain for when you travel and we start with looking at sightseeing in Southern Spain.
Plaza de España
The plaza is the area of 5 soccer pitches at around 50,000 square meters and is found at Parque de MarÃa Luisa. It has an array of government buildings and a stunning water area around the large building. A great pastime for those with young children is to ride round the 500-meter canal with 4 bridges on the mini boats and with this, it’s known as the Venice of Seville. The Plaza has also been used for many movies, including one of the Star Wars franchises which are pretty cool. A stunning place for travel lovers and just a small sample of what Seville has to offer.
Metropol Parasol
Sightseeing in Southern Spain is incomplete without visiting this beautiful structure. While Metropol Parasol can be found in an older part of Seville, it does not look like it. It was designed by a German architect and was completed in 2011. It is around 85 ft tall and for a small entrance fee, you can take a trip to the top where the real beauty is. The views over Seville are amazing and there are even guides to help you identify what other major buildings you can see around you. It’s not a place where many tour operators take you due to the small entrance cost, but those who have not visited here are really missing out on an amazing Southern Spain travel attraction.
Catedral de Santa MarÃa de la Sede
Say hello to the biggest Gothic Cathedral on the planet! Constructing it took over 100 years back from 1401 to 1506. This stunning building was built over a mosque that was built back in the 12th century. The center of this great monument rises up over 42 meters and holds the Great Chapel, the tomb of Christopher Columbus, and the tower bell. A visit to the top of this tower to see breathtaking views of Seville is a must. This famous Cathedral is not to be missed when you are looking for ideas for sightseeing in Southern Spain.
